Vince Sweeney, founder and president of Sweeney & Associates LLC, has nearly 25 years of experience in marketing, communications and public relations positions at one of the nation's top public universities. During that time, he worked closely with two Directors of Athletics and three Chancellors, guiding them in their strategic marketing, communications and public relations decisions in the highly visible and increasingly challenging worlds of higher education and intercollegiate athletics.

Sweeney also is an award-winning journalist, working 13 years in daily journalism at some of the nation's top newspapers, including the Milwaukee Sentinel, the Milwaukee Journal and the Los Angeles Times.  Sweeney also is a published author of two books about the history of Wisconsin athletics.

He serves on the Board of Directors of the Madison Area Sports Commission, the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau, Downtown Madison, Inc., the Wisconsin Alumni Association and Associated Bank.  He previously served as a board member for the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators; was a member of the NCAA’s subcommittee on Basketball Marketing; and was consulting editor for Collegiate Sports Marketing. In 2010, Sweeney was inducted into the Madison (WI) Sports Hall of Fame.

Sweeney is nationally recognized leader in marketing, communications and public relations and continues to be a frequent speaker at industry conferences and workshops.
